Bellies Babies and Mountains

Have I mentioned I LOVE doing maternity sessions?  I don't think there's much more beautiful than pregnant mamas or newborn babies, so to combine that with our amazing scenery is just bliss for me!

I had a great time with this sweet couple.  She's a Squamish original (you mean people lived here before the 90's? lol) And you may recognize dad from the Locavore Food Truck over at On the Farm Country Market. How lucky are we to have such fantastic community businesses to support?!  Aside from all the pregnant mamas, new babies and amazing landscape, shopping local may be one of the best parts of living here!

The Outdoor Recreation (Procreation) Capital of Canada: Squamish Maternity Photography

The conversation flowed easily with our mutual love of the outdoors, hours felt like minutes out there in the crisp autumn air.  There was no doubt in our consult that we needed a location that summed up Squamish and it's natural beauty.  We chatted about everything that makes this 'The Outdoor Recreation Capital of Canada' with none of the ego that seems to overpower so much of these activities. These two are about as sweet and down to earth as you'll ever meet & I can guarantee their lucky little bean has an amazing adventurous life ahead of them.

Adore Vu!

This family is nothing short of adorable and I can't wait to meet the newest addition!  We first met at the playground after they'd spent a nice morning at the farmer's market.  It was a great way to get to know the whole family and see just how brightly their little girl shines!

When scheduling their session I was pleased to hear they were game for getting out there early.  You may often hear of photographers talking about 'the golden hour'.  Well, achieving anything close to that can be a real challenge here in Squamish!  With how the valley is situated we get about 30-45 min of perfect lighting in the morning or the evening during the summer.  The 'golden hour' here is more of alpine glow with a quick shine before or after.

We got lucky that morning with the perfect balance of location, lighting and over the top sweetness!
