Introducing: Petite Milestone Sessions!

      

Designed specifically for parents who have done maternity and/or newborn sessions with Grinning Weasel Photography. 

Frankly, I don't love mini sessions.  I've tried them and I can admit I just plain don't like them.  There's something about expecting people, especially little people to perform under a time constraint that just doesn't sit well with me.  While the price may be less than a full session, I'm left feeling disappointed that my clients didn't get the best quality I can provide. 

BUT I wanted to be able to offer a cost effective solution to clients who have been so wonderful to me and just want a few shots, not a full gallery to catch some of those moments between birth and 1 year when their wee one is growing and changing SO quickly!!!

SO I have come up with a solution........ 

Petite Milestone Sessions!

For me the session part, the actual shooting is fun!  I love it.  I could care less if it takes 30 min or 3 hours.  Sitting in front of the computer editing & loading galleries is where the REAL work begins and where the majority of my time is spent, and therefore the cost of your session.  

Petite Milestone Sessions are different in that the session itself will not be limited in time any more than my usual sessions.  They may take 45min...they may take 2hrs.  The difference is that your gallery will be limited to 12-15 images rather than the usual 30ish. 

 Your baby isn't feeling their best and needs an extra feed/change or just a few extra minutes?  No problem!

 

Unlike typical mini-sessions you're not scheduled back to back with the next party showing up any minute and all that pressure of getting your child to cooperate.  Take your time & I'll keep shooting until I feel I have enough shots that I can be proud of to fill your gallery!

Petite Milestone Sessions cannot be used for newborn sessions.

These sessions are my special thank you to clients who have seen me for their newborn session or purchased a maternity/newborn combo package.

What kind of sessions can we do for a PETITE price?  

*Your child's milestones- 3mo, 6mo, 9mo, smiling, sitting (in studio or outdoors weather permitting)

*Family or Sibling Session (outdoors only)

*1st Birthday Cake Smash Session (studio only, no siblings) Parents must provide the cake & balloons

All for the low session fee of  $129

Updated January 27:  First 5 sessions have been booked pending payment.  Still worth it to get on the list!  If payment has not been received in 7 days you could be next on the list!  June is already fully booked.  July is currently about 75% full.  Aug-Oct are typically my busiest months and I expect they will fill up fast!

    Exuding the kind of bliss that would turn Scrooge into a caroling, ho ho ho-ing, ray of sunshine.  I can honestly say I've never seen anything like it and I've met a LOT of really wonderful, happy and loving families.  I've been mulling over this post for weeks and the title just kept running though my head....Happiness shot out of their faces like lazer beams, for real.  Big brother took a tiny bit of convincing, but a few seconds of booger talk & were fast friends! 

Squamish's Best

  A huge thank-you to all who voted for me in the Reader's Choice awards for Squamish.  Not gonna lie, it's pretty cool, although I have to admit I did email an editor and ask that next year they have a few more categories.  There are a lot of phenomenal photographers in Squamish & it would be wonderful to see categories for families, newborns, weddings, commercial, sports, landscape....etc, etc.  "Best Photographer" is a little broad, but hey for now I'll take it.

  So here's my little contest to say thanks for all of you who not only voted, but have actually come to see me and sent your friends & gone on to say all sorts of nice things about my work & have helped me build this little dream into a reality.

Beth +1: Squamish Photographer Grinning Weasel

        I loved this session for a multitude of reasons.  First off Beth is the kind of gal who grabs life by the horns and makes it what she wants.  She has decided to brave the world of parenthood all on her own & for this I have great admiration.  I was truly honored and flattered that she chose me to capture this precious time in her life particularly as she's not a Squamish local, but was willing to make the trek just to see me.  I was also thrilled that she was not the standard size 2 gal, I can't count the number of times I've heard, "I'm not skinny enough to do a maternity session."  I think we can all agree from these photos that the beauty of pregnancy doesn't only come in small sizes.  Although I think even Beth would agree that she found a new respect for models after a couple hours of being forced into slightly awkward feeling poses ;) She also brought a friend (aka my new found assistant) who did an incredible job of keeping the mood light and fun with her traveling music box & always entertaining antics.  And finally, she requested to have photos taken with her beloved van, which for me was the highlight of the whole session.

Three is the Magic Number

   You know how it is.... you're driving home one day and a random person you haven't thought of in a while pops into your head then within a day you run into that person.   Happens, right? 

    Well not too long ago I was driving home & this family popped into my head.  I had done family photos for them in the fall for the past two years & I got to hoping that I'd hear from them again this year.  Of course only to find out there was already a message in my inbox.  Yay!  I love those guys! 

     The session was booked well in advance and again a couple weeks before the session Emily popped into my head, only this time she was pregnant.  Well, sure enough in our next correspondence I came to find out she's 20 weeks along!  I was thrilled to find out that for our third year together they were expecting baby number 3! 

    It was wonderful this year to arrive at the session and have their girls remember me from previous years and immediately start hamming it up!  These two encompass everything that sisters should be, their bond is obvious not to mention adorable!  Getting to watch these families grow is really the best part of this job!
